Which is better? Tadafil or sildenafil? For health.

That’s what we are all trying to figure out. Right now, it looks like the evidence is slightly pushing towards the direction of Sildenafil, but the case is far from closed.

I agree. IMO: Because, oddly, some people feel adverse side effects from one but not the other, I would take whichever one I tolerated best.
As I have previously posted, I prefer sildenafil because of its shorter half-life, which makes dosing more straightforward. FWIW: I have been taking sildenafil, 25mg daily, for quite some time without any subjective side effects.

Also, sildenafil is the drug that demonstrated longevity benefits. We only accept that tadalafil does the same thing because of its similarity to sildenafil.

I’ll be trying Sildenafil.

I’m about to add Tadafil in a attempt to remove Norvasc (need the blood pressure reduction but it has few other redeeming characteristics) and Alfuzosin (which I dont find very effective for my mild BPH and also doesn’t bring much else to the table) in hopes of getting at least the same mild benefit on both areas while adding some blood vessel health and longevity benefit. I’ll see how it goes and maybe switch if the evidence becomes more clear but, Tadafil is what my longevity doc was supportive of trying for now.

I don’t say that you should keep using alfuzosin but it’s an interesting drug: Terazosin / doxazosin / alfuzosin may protect against dementia with Lewy bodies

FWIW, both sildenafil and tadalafil positively affect my circulation, noticeable by my fingertips being less pruney and my right hand and foot not being as cold, along with the usual benefits these drugs were designed for. Unfortunately, they also cause a more frequent stuffy nose and severely worsen an existing chronic facial pain issue I have. It looks like I might not be able to continue using them, but I will try microdosing sildenafil to see if I can retain the positives while limiting the negatives.

How common is this stuffy nose problem among those of you that regularly take Tadalafil? Is it recurring and persistent or did it subside over time?

I have this problem after about 10 days of continuous use. It is annoying but I am enjoying other benefits, including better circulation. So I would prefer to continue. I just need to weigh the cost of this annoying symptom against the benefits.

I think mine went away with a lower dose, and the benefits were the same even at lower dose (from 10mg to 5 mg sometime cut the 5 into 2.5 also)

Longer 1/2 life could also mean that side effects disappear and don’t reappear with each dose since your body has a considerable amount in the system already. Whereas (perhaps?) with viagra you may experience side effects every time you take it (seemed to be the case with me and Viagra getting a small headache every time I took, and NOT with Cialis) considering that it will flush out of the system within 24 hours. just a thought…However, I do like the idea of say staying at least one week free to completely flush it out of the system every once in a while.

My experience: on 2.5-5mg, seems to mostly go away over time. It would still sneak up once in a while though.

I agree, but it is worth noting I posted some evidence earlier in the thread showing Tadalafil reduces cardiovascular events and mortality in men with ED.

Here it is again so you don’t have to scroll

Thanks @adssx I totally missed that in my research (should have popped the drug name in the search here for sure  ) Fascinating data I’ll dig into deeper but, might argue the case for adding the Tadalafil, dropping the Norvasc, and sticking with the Alfuzosin (for which I’ve had no side effects). The Alfluzosin and Tadalafil target different MOA for BPH I believe so, I’ll dig in but probably additive.

Hi people.

I found Tadalafil where I live.
4x10mg for $12, I guess the price is ok.
I take Rapamune 2mg + 2 GF weekly, Taurine 6g and GlyNAC 2.4/16g and Creatine 5g daily.
Does Tadalafil have any interaction with any of those?
I was planning to take 2.5mg of Tadalafil before I hit the gym every other day ( im 43 btw ).
Can I brake safely that 10mg tablet in 4x 1/4 parts to get 2.5mg?

Yes for sure. Looks like a solid regimen.

that is exorbitantly high price, I think i paid for 200tablets at 20mg $7 +shipping of $30 or something like that. But i bought couple other meds on that shipment so in my case the shipping attributed to tadalafil is more like $13, so to do apples to apples I got 4000mg’s at around $20+ and you got 40mgs at $12, with that calculation you’ll be paying $1200 for 4000mg as opposed to about $20-$30 from an Indian supplier. don’t know where you live and if allowed to import drugs for personal use in your country though.

The rest of your email, I’m not aware that Tadalafil will interact with any you mentioned and yes you can break Tadalafil.

Nah, we cant import meds for personal use here in Eastern Europe.
I have to buy it from the pharmacy.

Hello guys, my doctor says you should take Tadalafil/ Sildenafil only above age 60. I am 53, healthy, and he says there is no reason to take it. Actually, I feel an improvement since my nocturnal pee pause at around 3 am stopped and I can sleep now for 8-9 hours without going to the toilett. I attribute this to Tadalafil (takin saw palmetto, pygeum, cranberry too). Started taking 5mg Tadalafil 3 month ago reading this post. Whats your take on that? Thank you.

My take on it is that there’s isn’t a rational reason to pick an age other than the “overall” perception is that prostate seems to be mainly an issue with men over say 60. Another doctor might as well tell you should start at 55, and another one could tell you it is ok to start at 50, In other words, the age number is “almost” being pulled out the doctor’s hat, but most will say over 50 LOL

Now should or shouldn’t you do it? That is a bit more nuanced and needs the assessment of risks (if any) and side effect, AND the benefits. These factors btw, are all different for different people.
Personally, at 58 I’m taking 5mg daily for 5 days and two rest/flush per week. I started recently. I kind of regret it that i did not start at least at 50. Had I known what I know now, I would have probably started taking it as early as 45 albeit at 2.5mg (two or three times per week). The benefits, no prostate cancer, or reduced risk of PC (if true) far out way the risks (for most men). Prostate cancer is a MONSTER that is very common, and EVERY man must do whatever they can to try and prevent getting it. So, if I were you, I would keep doing it. BTW saw palmetto supplement while it may help a bit, overall, it is as good as snake oil lol. I just happen to have a family member that were doing saw palmetto, and aspirin daily for last 25 years and were diagnosed with stage 4 PC few weeks ago. BTW this person was in very low risk category since he zero history of PC in his family, father grandfather, brothers, uncles etc…

my two cents.
