Hey All: I first heard of something called “Purple Stuff” in Sweden - all my health focused friends there were using it. But, they were kinda vague as to where I would get it in the USA. So I started hunting for it. Then a close chemist buddy mentioned to me that he has been using C-60 - Fullerene or Carbon 60 - nicknamed Purple stuff for about 2-years to great effect for skin improvement, positive attitude, weight reduction and memory improvements.

I did a bit more looking and found a recent Forbes Magezine article on the same C-60 source my chemist buddy told me about and that I now use: This Nobel Prize-Winning Molecule Could Be The Best Thing For Anti-Aging I have been using C-60 (avocado oil as it is naturally digestable - recommended by my buddy) for about a month now as an antioxidant, along with my metformin and rapamycin. They all seem to be compatible - no side-effects. Feeling energy and euphoric. Skin looking great. A bit pricey but they first give a 15% discount and then a 20% discount if you start a cart and then don’t check out.

Anyone else here on the site using C-60? Comments? Thoughts? Another opportunity to reverse the aging clock.

Perhaps there is some evidence out there, but the Forbes article reads like an advertisement. The evidence looks thin but promising, such as

Much too early for me to jump in and try it.

Newer study: C60 in olive oil does not extend lifespan of mice.

Hmmm…
Good to know. Thanks!

Hello, here is another data point on the long story of C60:

“In fact, any time C60 is tested for toxicity without checking its purity and the purity of the solvent or adjuvant used, while avoiding light exposure, deleterious effects are usually observed”
The paper is worth a read, since Fathi Moussa ist the corresponding author. He is also the last author of the seminal C60-paper from 2012: The prolongation of the lifespan of rats by repeated oral administration of [60]fullerene - PubMed, which started all.

Here is another recent paper, showing that C60 protected against ethanol toxicity:
“C60 Fullerene Reduces the Level of Liver Damage in Chronic Alcohol Intoxication of Rats” C60 Fullerene Reduces the Level of Liver Damage in Chronic Alcohol Intoxication of Rats - PubMed.

I am using it since about 2015 and am still alive.

This was my first post here in this very interesting forum and I thank everybody for the the interesting reads I enjoyed since starting reading here.

Head to longecity. They have several threads there on C60, including C60 hair tonic. One thread (home experiments) started in April 2012, and ended in September 2021.

Most informative are threads where the conversation is headed by one called Turnbuckle.

Thanks for your updating the topic with these articles.

I guess the jury is still out. I used, C60 for about a year with no negative effects. I use the avocado oil form which is very different than the olive oil based product and may have a difference in life extension. Just because of the differing absorption.

One problem for me is… it’s a little pricey, even with the discounts.

And this - why it is purple:

Doing well on biological markers without it.

Yes. That is the longest thread.

But the one headed and started by Tunrbuckle, which I read through, is this one below.

The protocol evolved through the years, and the latest version is somewhere in the 80s page (total 85 pages). Will post when I find it.

It is a thread of pure experimentation. So do not look for RCTs, etc. The discussion and refinements provide theoretical basis for why a step is taken. I have not experimented with the protocol

yet.

OT (Off-topic).

A feature in longecity, is the fact that the original poster automatically has moderator privileges. So that offloads some of the moderating from you. In the thread I was following, the OP asked participants to stick to the topic. After a warning, the OP can delete further OT posts by would-be participants.

That would be the dumbest change, then moronic threads can turn into echo-chamber based on the original posters volition (like the “High LDL is good” thread or “DAV therapy”).

Longecity is dead filled with spam. Why anyone would try to emulate that either way makes no sense to me.

Ultimately this feature is a software issue, and its set by the developers of the forum software. Our forum software is a little different, and we can’t really change feature sets (in most areas). Plus, I self-host this forum (on a virtual server), and I don’t update the software very often (so as to minimize headaches with plugins I use, etc.), so we may have fewer features than some.

Anyway - this is way off topic. I’ll delete this short digression in a day.
