Yikes, I didn’t know all that. Thanks.

Someone recently organized a group buy for a Japanese treatment. I suppose we’ll find out if it actually works next year.
Where did you see the buy group? Please post info if you can…
FYI- thus far, that GB is not exactly going swimmingly. Still very up in the air as to whether its going to actually take place in some satisfactory manner.
Can you share what the issue is? Number of buyers, technical difficulties, etc.?
I would be very interested if there was a way to validate the compound, and the purity via a third party independent lab here in the US. Perhaps we do a group buy of the validation - everyone pitch in $50 towards getting a lab to validate it is what they say it is, and the purity of the samples.
One of the issues I suspect is that its hard to get a reference standard (the known chemical that can serve as the reference standard to do the comparison against). Sigma Aldrich doesn’t seem to provide it:

I sent RapAdmin a PM, but mainly the issue is having possible trouble with the lab.

Hi Arcticwolf. What happaned to the message about a treatment for gray hair what you found on reddit? Why did you delete it?
Yes sir, i have deleted the post. We have reached like 15 members for the group buy. For now, we are waiting for the lab to create the serum. Fingers crossed

Ok thanks for letting me know, good luck then
Good News.
I have contacted Eirion Therapeutics. We can participate in their Clinical Trials but you have to physically visit their research facilities for tests and stuff like that. All of them located in Texas, United States.
I attached screenshot of the three locations. So, guys if you are willing to be a volunteer, go ahead.
This might be the light at the end of tunnel for everyone who is suffering from alopecia and grey hair like me.
If i were in the States, i would have been the first to volunteer.

Update: On Sept 24, 2024, Arey’s site https://areygrey.com/pages/studies announces “The first and only third-party, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study on the appearance of grey hair.” I couldn’t find a link to a study with those characteristics. I did find this one:
Dipali Chavan, “Reversal of Premature Hair Graying Treated with a Topical Formulation Containing α-Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone Agonist (Greyverse Solution 2%),” Int J Trichology. 2022 Nov-Dec; 14(6): 207–209.
The AreyGrey.com site says “Arey works best on those who have 0-30% grey hair.”

It’s been a while since I visited this thread.
About the DIY RiverTown Serum:
Has anyone who tried it observed any noticeable benefits?
TIA for any feedback
Sounds promising! Anyone here tried it?

I tried it for a while, but ultimately gave it up due to terrible blurred vision due to the cyclosporine.

EDIT: I posted this in hair color… I’ll try to move this to hair growth
The paper you referenced is interesting, but it’s a case study. So it’s not “third-party, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled”.
Maybe there is a valid reason, but it seems sketchy to me that Arey doesn’t give the reference to their study.

I just got their shampoo. I already have a pretty busy routine, but substituting a shampoo doesn’t add any extra work to my daily routine.
$40 for 250 ml sounds bad, but it’s about how much my wife would spend for her shampoo, so shrug.
I have about 3% gray hair, I have couple of spots that I will be tracking.
Will report back in 4-6 months.

Yes, if such a paper exists, Arey should provide a link or reference. In September, I searched the web for a paper meeting the description on the Arey site (“third-party, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled”) and could not find one anywhere. I checked again on PubMed yesterday. Same thing, no such paper.
