@jjrap1, I’m doing it modified with 50mg doxycycline every 12 hours and 140mg acsorbyl palmitate every 12 hours post doxycycline. I historically do not tolerate the full dosage of doxycycline well (disrupts my sleep) or high doses of vitamin c so that’s why I personally modified it. I’m keeping the azithromycin at 250mg every 3 days/72 hours. I haven’t decided on whether to pause rapamycin yet.

That’s the only thing that is holding me up from starting: the issue of cardiac complications from Azithromycin. I had Atrial Fibrillation (have had ablation). Trying to find more info on the risk for me.

I was not on rapamycin at the time,I cycle on and off.

In one of the other posting I said I was going to start rapamycin on October 1, but decided to do the DAV.

Just thinking it may be better for the removal/
eradication of senescence cells and CSC .
Same reason that I increase the doxycycline dose/ made a tighter window 8 hours instead of 12 and higher Vitamin C . To increase removal/
eradication of senescence cells and CSC.

Yes, a leap of faith the paper and work published is correct or mostly correct.

The possibility of the potential benefits {as published) is high and risk in my view is low.

Will let you know once I start. Am expecting this to be around 30th October as I’m finishing a post-cycle therapy I do to aid my rehabilitation. Will update you on protocol & rapa use/pause then. Following all already trying DAV eagerly

I paused Rapa and all other supplements while on DAV. Std protocol.

I took my rapamycin today so I suppose I’ve made my decision. I’ve been taking rapa at 3mg/week (100 pound female). Recently I shifted to 1mg on Mondays and 2mg on Thursdays just because I like how I feel with more frequent dosing but 1mg every other day seemed a bit too much over several weeks time. This dosing schedule seems the best compromise for me. Ideally as a smaller person I would like to eventually switch to 0.5mg and try taking that amount more frequently. So far I’m feeling really good on DAV with nothing negative or positive to report but it’s only day 3.

Do you feel that your weight goes down with rapamycin? Mine does. And it’s difficult to gain weight no matter how much I eat. I was 112 lb, and lost 5 lb with my recent viral infection. Trying hard to gain it back, but it’s stuck at 107 lb.

That’s impossible unless the laws of physics can be broken. Simply you are eating too few calories or using too much with exercise.

Yes, it’s like my stomach has shrunk. I can’t over eat, ever. And I’m just not very hungry. I actually hit 151 lb last week and decided to start making myself eat more.

It’s possible, regardless of physics. I eat all day long and do not exercise that much. Rapamycin mimics starvation. What are your thoughts about that?

Check Ethan Sims experiments at Vermont State Prison during the 60s and 70s. From what I can recall same calories in did not equate to same weight gain. He recruited inmates to eat as much as they could to gain 25% of their body weight, in return for early release from prison. Some of the volunteers could not reach the target however hard they tried, even though they were eating 10,000 calories a day. Sims’s conclusion was that for some, obesity is nearly impossible

Did you weigh more before Rapa?

There’s a lot of things wrong with that study which is expected as it’s an old one, but they did not feed inmates the same amount of calories and neither would that make any sense as people burn a different amount of calories, dependent on body weight, for example. They didn’t show how many calories each subject ate either. That’s only one problem. You can try and find a more recent, better study, if you want.

No it’s not possible, you don’t gain weight because you don’t eat enough calories. As soon as you start tracking your calories you will know. Try a 20 or 25% increase over your daily calorie needs with a lot of protein.

Unfortunately, I cannot eat a lot of protein. It’s not healthy for my transplanted kidney. My diet is vegetarian with occasional fish, kefir, cheese and eggs. I eat a lot of veggies and whole grains (oats, buckwheat, teff, etc). Most people would gain weight on such diet with lots of carbs, but not me. I’m stuck at 107.4 lb. My BMI is considered normal for my height of 5’3”, but it’s almost borderline.

Well the problem is still a lack of calories, extra protein is only a way to try an tilt any weight gain to muscle mass.

I got a bad CAC, went keto and started Rapa at the same time. The keto flu was a bit of a drag for awhile, but once adapted to burning fat I lost about 25 pounds and it’s been gone for nearly 3 1/2 years. I can’t say it’s all the Rapa because I started keto at the same time and while I’ve dialed it back a bit so I could use fruit and veg a little more I’m still pretty carb free…when I get carbs I use acarbose.

My CAC has actually gone backwards, to my doctor’s surprise. I watch the low carb people banging the drum of low carb. And I do believe it’s a great way to avoid food that is bad for health. I still worry a bit about the high LDL and it comes from the Rapa. I backed off my dose another notch and will see the result around Christmas. CAC is usually in Feb. Just feeling my way along.

I’m 5’11" and usually around 155 now.

@LaraPo, yes I understand and it’s similar for me. I weighed in at 99 pounds today. I’m still not in the underweight category but I’m getting close. I feel strong and fit so I’m trying not to worry about it too much.

@LaraPo, many people can’t relate to this issue!

I can, and it’s because of a lack of calories or too much exercise.
Start adding a lot of extra walnuts (blended for absorption, like nutty pudding from Bryan Johnson), avocado, EVOO, pecans, macademia nuts, and the weight will go back on.

It’s not a good idea to be close to underweight. The optimal BMI is around 20-22 in association studies if I remember correctly.

One terrible illness or hospital stay and you’ve lost all your muscle and will have a harder time to recover. It is also associated with higher fracture risk to have a lower weight.

See a dietitian if you still have problems IMO.

I eat all of that, but didn’t try nutty pudding yet. I think we even have a recipe at this forum.
