Continuing the discussion from Has Anyone Seen a Rise in Blood Pressure Using Rapamycin?:

Hello, recently joined and have just purchased the Aktiia. Just a heads up it’s on offer right now £188.89 and the following code worked for me to get a further 15% off AktiiaHCP
Helped to lower my BP a little bit :grinning:

Currently using an Omron cuff but my readings seem to vary widely and look to be on the high side so looking for a solid baseline

Whatever happened with that South Korean gizmo? Any updates? Is it coming stateside? Sorry, can’t find that thread atm.

It’s just been launched in Japan by Omron. Perhaps another year or two before it hits the USA

This is the Canadian version - do you know if that works with US smartphones and app stores?

(Think there were issues when people in the US got them from Europe before)

Does anyone know when they might get US FDA clearance?

I went to the link he posted to see if this was the US version, but when I clicked on the apple app from their site, it said not available here.

It does state it will be in the US this year

An update on the Aktiia I bought back in January.
The big problem I have found is that the cuff that is used to calibrate the bracelet has been consistently reporting a Systolic reading that is 10 points higher than measured using a number of different Omron cuffs. Consequently the bracelet readings are always 10 points higher than my actual Systolic BP.
I have reported this back to Aktiia asking to return and replace the cuff but they just stonewall saying this is within the device specification.
So although it’s a great idea, the unit I purchased is in my opinion not fit for purpose. At least the error seems to be consistent so it’s OK for seeing trends but I have stopped using it and gone back to cuff measurement
