I came across this study while trying to investigate which is the safer option, Repatha or Praluent. Am I interpreting correctly that Praluent appears to be safer in terms of diabetes risk? Although there seems to be less data compared to Repatha.
Interestingly, they also commented that the lower the LDL, the higher the average risk of diabetes, which may not necessarily be related to PCSK9 inhibitors themselves but rather to very low LDL levels in general. To clarify, I believe it’s still beneficial to lower LDL-C quite significantly, but I wonder if there is a point where it becomes too low and the other risks start to outweigh the additional benefits?

Exploratory meta-regression analyses on PCSK9i effect on incident type 2 diabetes
The absolute value of LDL-C at the end of each study was inversely associated with the risk of type 2 diabetes; for each 10%
lower of LDL-C levels increased the type 2 diabetes risk by 3.8% [(0.5-6.3), p=0.024].

I would be interested in trying Praluent 150 mg once a month. I found this study, and it shows quite good results with this off-label dosage.

Are there any Praluent or Repatha users on the forum? I would be interested in hearing about your experiences. What was the dosage and the effect on LDL-C and Lp(a)? Any side effects?
@Deborah_Hall has used Repatha. She spoke about it on the forum somewhere here about her experience.

I’ve been on Repatha x 1 year. LDL prior to starting was 121, total 186. Nadir level LDL 66, total 126. If I go on Rapa it increases to 107 and 164 respectively. Apo B dropped from 95 to 71 (LDL 85 at that time).
A1c was 5.2 at start and HOMA-IR 0.6. A1c over the following year was 5.1-5.2 with HOMA-IR 0.4-0.6.
So no effect on glucose homeostasis for me thus far at 1 year.

Very difficult to find Praluent 150mg in France couples of month back and apparently this product is discontinued as some pharmacist say. Do you have any news about the shortage or end of this wonderful drug?
