Stephen Wolfram’s Physics Project formalizes much of the things discussed in the video, following a kind of computational step-by-step “update” of reality|universe by some conjectured update rules from which Wolfram claims to derive the standard model and much more.

Not certain Wolfram’s efforts will turn out to make sense, but if one has an interest in these things I think it contributes to the discussion.
