Another study promoting metformin for life extension!
I’m wondering if our daily dosage should be 500 or 1000?

I like the fact that this study was done on primates.

Sounds too good to believe, but since Metformin and Rapamycin are synergistic, I have no problems taking both. It could also be why Metformin and Galantamine supposedly slow down Sarcopenia.
I am currently taking 500 mg of XR Metformin, but I am considering 1 g daily. I used to take 2 g daily for many years but developed problems with hypoglycemia and throttled down to 500 mg daily.
My father take 1 g daily and my mother 2 g daily (she’s diabetic).

Thanks for the interesting finding. I’ve been taking 500 mg metformin once a day in the evening for over a decade, after the first few initial studies on ageing and the fact that it is one of the safest drugs on the market if renal function is taken into account for dosing. Now to figure out whether to increase to 500 mg twice a day or 1000 mg at night. I’m not convinced that constant inhibition of mitochondrial complex I is a good idea except as a treatment for Type II DM, as opposed to pulse dosing once a day for anti-ageing purposes.
