Oh boy. Not something I knew to worry about. How many folks have had these MRI tests and how often. Especially those who are health conscious with a diet high in nuts, seeds, vegetables and high oxalate sources. And taking vitamin C before the test is especially dangerous.

Scientists discover how nanoparticles of toxic metal used in MRI scans infiltrate human tissue

“The worst disease caused by MRI contrast agents is nephrogenic systemic fibrosis," he said. “People have succumbed after just a single dose.” The condition can cause a thickening and hardening of the skin, heart and lungs and cause painful contracture of the joints.”

“I wouldn’t take vitamin C if I needed to have an MRI with contrast because of the reactivity of the metal," Wagner said. “I’m hoping that we’re getting closer to some recommendations for helping these individuals.”

So I think the angiogram is done with this stuff and I decided since I have no symptoms then this would be too dangerous.

Kind of a bad CAC, but it’s under control and it seems to be trending in the right direction.

The risk of NSF with group 2 contrast agents is essentially 0.
