Hi Travis thank you I will try it- I see Life Extension has 1mg. I feel I can benefit from it.

1mg is a great amount to start out with daily. 5mg is pretty potent but can be useful in times of more acute stress.
It’s good to seek out the root cause of the anxiety but lithium will help.

I can’t speak to Berberine’s affect on my mTOR, but I wore a CGM for 4 weeks, and 500 mg of Berberine, when taken with a meal, had a SIGNIFICANT effect of modulating my glucose response compared with not taking Berberine.
While taking 500 mg of Berberine at every mealtime, my CGM was still showing an insulin spike at about 3am, 6-8 hours after my last meal, so my functional MD recommended taking 500 mg of extended release Metformin at bedtime.
Then I began to experience occasional 3am leg cramps, VERY painful, so I added Magnesium Glycinate to my bedtime routine and no more leg cramps.

That’s cool. To be clear, you’re saying you had lower blood glucose after a meal, if you consumed 500mg berberine with the meal?
And now you’re taking both berberine (with the meal) and metformin (after the meal, before bed)?
Were you pre-diabetic or anything like that beforehand? What does your blood glucose look like now?
I take 500 mg Metformin in the evening. I bought some Berberine and took one in the morning. My blood sugar dropped so low I thought I was dying. I was shaking and felt faint. It scared the hell out of me and I am scared to try it again.

Yes, going into a hypoglycemic state is neither fun nor healthy. If you are in that situation, take sugar immediately in either a solid or liquid form. I keep a bag of Maltesers in my backpack and take some whenever I feel hypoglycemia setting in which is usually around 3-4 pm on a work day.
Interestingly, my HBA1C is 5.6 and I can still experience hypoglycemia.
