From Dr Jed Fahey, I understand the best source of sulforaphane is broccoli sprouts. Another source of a nearly identical chemical (just as effective according to Fahey) is Moringa. Kuli Kuli is the brand I use. I just finished a podcast with the Founder. It has many effects via NRF2 activation.

Didn’t the ITP fail to make sulforaphane work in vivo? The next best NRF2 activator is astaxanthin which did successfully pass the ITP.

I wouldn’t consider the ITP to be the final word on supplements.
I just restarted my Broc.

No, I don’t think so (and couldn’t find anything about this given a quick search). Are you perhaps thinking of spermidine?

The ITP did find that another NRF2 promoter (Protandim) was successful in longevity increase.

But - perhaps it mostly works to help in areas of “healthspan”…

Nrf2 mediates cancer protection but not prolongevity induced by caloric restriction

ITP is also testing Dimethyl fumarate a well-known activator of Nrf2

How many kgs and for how long do you walk for?

Seems that reduction of heart beats happens only for elite athletes. Most of us will never reach that stage. Does CR create a similar effect as well? Some medications, like beta blockers, slow down the heart. My resting HR is pretty low - 45-48. I’m on a low dose of Labetalol (50mg twice/day).

Interesting. My husband has been suggesting I use a weighted vest while walking to get some cardio as I have knee issues that prevent running and shoulder issues that prevent use of rowing machine / ski erg, etc. I’ll have to try it.

On the dhea front, I take 25 mg twice daily for menopause symptoms and it’s been great for that. Hopefully it it’s helping me keep my muscles too.

Thanks for posting those Refs Admin. They are good.
I think the inference is that, although sulforaphane itself may not “extend lifespan”, if it reduces muscle loss that probably prevents falls, (in humans) which might otherwise be fatal.

I have tried enanthate, this is the best for me, I could get away with injecting every 6 days, but this is not covered by my insurance. The gel is just not very practical, you have to do it every morning, it’s costs more. But for longevity, this might be the best option if clomid isn’t an option

My vest is 18 pounds/8.16kg and I typically use it for 2-3 hours per day 4 days each week. Only 30-45 minutes of that time is walking for exercise and the rest is just normal daily activities.

How much do you feel this not walking part helps? Think it would help when just sitting / standing at computer?

It seems to help quite a bit. I usually wear it doing housework like vacuuming, laundry, dishes etc on my days off work. Just doing ordinary movements like going from sitting to standing, bending or kneeling requires more work/effort from my muscles with the vest on.

Very interesting. I think in I’ll look into this. I have weighted backpack, but that is too clunky to wear around the house / does not work well to sit in.

What did you think of their position on finasteride? Do you take finasteride for preventive measures?

Thank you very much for the information. That helps might try that myself

I don’t think SARMs have turned out to be any better than AAS. Most of them have many of the same side effects as traditional AAS while still shutting down endogenous sex hormone production, and on top of that are synthetic substances. Test has its drawbacks, but your body knows exactly what to do with it

Sure, it will suppress by some extent the hypothalamus-pituitary-testis axis but the research and anecdotal accounts from bodybuilders that are using Ostarine for months in really large doses do not show a excessive reduction in most people.
TRT on the other hand completely shuts down hypothalamus-pituitary-testis axis and your body becomes dependent on exogenous testosterone. It affects also spermatogenesis and could lead to testicular atrophy. It can also quite often cause polycythemia which can cause a lot of other problems as well.
And I am not advocating for Ostarine (or other SARMs) just saying that both come with a certan risks or unwanted effects.

My MD friend had a 2 year old coming to the hospital with pubic hair. Turned out her father applied the t-gel on his chest and that it eventually ended up on his daughter. I asked if the mother had a darkened voice, bot my friend didn’t have that info.

I’m against TRT because it creates a dependency, and I concider the gels straight out dangerous.

If you have low T with high E, Boron, sink, and magnesium suplements can help lowering E, which eventually will raise T through feedback mechanisms in the HPTA. Lowering body fat will also help, and heavy resistance training, especially squats are known for stimulating T production.

I tried 1 mg per day for 2 months but stopped because I felt it have me less energy / agression in the gym. I now use it topical 2x per week and 1x per week topical dutasteride together with daily minoxidil against hair loss
