Fungi, much like yeast for bread making, or yoghurt cultures, or with homemade cheese, or magic shrooms, can all easily be cultured at home and passed on to friends, and the story of rapamycin, from the very beginning as well as when that one guy grew a bunch of streptomyces hygroscopicus and then kept it in his freezer, all tells us that it is easy to grow rapa, and extraction, say via benzyl alcohol, is straightforward. Only question, where can we get some culture and info on how best to grow? Anybody any information?

As far as sources… that gets more difficult. I have no idea how one would get the initial culture short of traveling to Easter Island.

I actually worked on this for a while, back before GFJ and using a prescription from my doc (maybe $3.50/mg) and using 10mg 3 times/month. It seemed like a thing to try, but now maybe $7/month and I don’t have the equipment or expertise. You can get by pretty cheap. So I let it go.
If you make any progress please post because I still think it’s a cool idea.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate here.
Why bother doing this when you can use a prescription to get a 100% guaranteed effective and safe product for less than $1 a mg?

Because many cannot. I can’t get a prescription, nor do I trust materials gotten w/o prescription, and so on,…, if I had my trusty yoghurt culture that is well known to give about 3 mg rapa per tblsp or whatever, now wouldn’t that be convenient, independent from big pharma and the encroaching nanny states,…

You can have your blood tested a couple hours after ingestion of India sourced Rapa and it will show whether the active ingredient was there and as a bonus it will show how well it was absorbed. Cost is under $100. I had it done.
