@CronosTempi Thanks. This paper is thought provoking. I wonder if this periodic animal based food restriction is good enough for slowing aging while supporting retention of muscle mass and strength over time…

I’ve just started my latest FMD which is a calorie, protein and animal based food restriction program. The effects of a FMD are nothing short of amazing for me: RHR falls 10 BMP, body aches vanish, bad habits broken….and I can still exercise. Certainly the exercise part would suffer if I tried to extend beyond 5 days, so I’m thinking a monthly pulsing of FMD is the way to go.

Yes, pulsing seems to hit a sweetspot, because Longo emphasizes the importance of refeeding. After autophagy, you need to rebuild. Periodic restricting of animal products also helps with the gut biome.
