how long have you been on Rapa and what are the net results for you?
If you want to cut costs on Rapamycin, consider sourcing from India, or cutting the dose by 1/3 and taking GFJ 1-4 hours before dosing.
NOVOS is a bunch of common supplements all jammed together. Is it cheaper to buy them separately? I am not sureā¦
Vitamin A/K2/D/B6/B12/Zinc/Magnesium - Why take vitamin A? Itās been linked to cancer formation? The rest are good, but some are in your NOVOS.
Beef liver? Are you iron deficient? If not, iron is pro-aging.
NMN/Apigenin - Iām on the fence on these.
Sirt6 Activator - Sounds really promising, but also really expensive. Not enough sources for me to take the dive on this one. What are your thoughts?
The rest looks good.

Hi Jonas, Iām at week 4 (1mg/2mg/3mg) and took 4mg today. Iāve stopped methotrexate (taking since 2015) as it wasnāt working anymore and I disliked the side effects. I reluctantly tried prednisone 2 years ago and it made my joint pain worse. Destructive, last-ditch drug and just a band aid.
My negatives on rapa are minimal with some positives so far.
Have considered the 1mg x 5 regime, but am going slow and tracking sides. Thanks for the link to this trial! Will post again when I have more data to report.

Iām not the one to ask
Iāve just started and its been a mixed bag. Started three months ago. I didnāt work up I just went to the 6-7 mg daily. Got insomnia, would keep me up a couple of hours about half the week. So my natural, untrained thought was to take 1mg daily to stop the insomnia, not reading that that could possibly have immune issues. Got sick a couple times, one bad food poisoning that lasted a week. Took some time off the med. Then I worked up slowly from 3mg weekly to the 10mg weekly now. I feel good but too early to get my bloodwork done. No more insomnia.

Isnt it just the not natural vitamin A (synthetic A) thats linked to the cancer? I get it naturally from the beef liver. I think I read A/K2/D work with each other to avoid toxicity or something.
Iām not sure if its the Nad+ or the sirt 6 or the rapa or something else, but my energy is good and my libido is near college age at 44, so Iām weary to touch anything!

About Novos : I was looking into this but besides expensive I also noted that quantities were not as ideal ( eg very little fisetine in it, compared to general recommendations) so I also was thinking of calculating costs of a similar andā upgradedā mix myself ā¦ and then I got busy doing other things !
So thank you for reminding me : will do the maths and let you know here

I think youāre doing great, very similar to mine. But if you want to save money, ditch the nmn/apigenin and just use IR Niacin. If you watch lustgartenās video on his NMN journey, he found niacin to be far superior. Also just a few pennies a day. Good Luck,

Beautiful but expensive.
I have yet to try AKG, been meaning toā¦ just have not pulled the trigger yet.
astaxanthin, glutathione expensiveā¦ fisetin too if you consider that it doesnāt do much.
Spermadine I get from my probiotic and aged cheese and mushrooms.
Selenium from brazil nuts.
I still think Niacin beats NMN and apigenin especially if you figure in the cost.
The rest of it I take and I love how itās arranged.

No effect in the ITP: NMN, apigenin, EGCG, fisetin
Doesnāt even get absorbed into the bloodstream: spermidine
Might actually be damaging: glutathione
Unknown status: CaAKG, probiotics
Likely useless: berberine, vitamin C
Probably a good idea: TMG, astaxanthin, iodine, magnesium, b complex, d3, k2, omega-3, creatine, taurine, whey, taurine, fiber, zinc, selenium, HLA, collagen

I agree, but I am still not, having spent the money and the time, convinced that HLA and collagen supplements are worth it.

Spermadine in the bloodstream is conflicting. Unknown. But it is absolutely great at closing the junctions in the gut, therefore reducing the microbial burden.
Probiotics are amazing and cheap if done right. It requires effort.
We disagree on berberine. Cheap and easily worth it. It improves blood sugar and blocks production of TMAO.

I love my berberine! Many benefits if you have blood sugar troubles. Or so Iām told. Why do you think not?

I was just going to say to not take health advice from Vinay.
Notice that Vinayās point is that there is none, according to him.
The person who responds is someone else, itās their substack you should link to.

Yes - I was confused about the thread. The valacyclovir is interestingā¦ anyone have an opinion on it?

Itās actually a real drug used for this purpose, not some weird off-label drug based on shoddy mechanistic data. Very interesting.

I take it almost every day because on methotrexate I had a mild outbreak of shingles. Since reading in 2016 about the link between herpes viruses/EBV and Alzheimers disease, I plan on continuing to take it forever. Google āAlzheimerās ebvā as a place to start.
