Hey, thanks for the link. How did you work out what the custom charge would be?
The exact listing you linked says unavailable for delivery to the UK for me, but I found what looks like the same with the same price delivery £9 , it doesn’t mention custom charges anywhere. I am window shopping at this point though
would need to save up for a while. Wish it was possible to share!

I agree. There is certainly a tradeoff between gluttony and abstemiousness.
Food is one of life’s joys. I don’t care what someone eats, but if it is too restrictive it’s not for me.

Rather that focusing on restricing calories, maybe it’s a better idea to maximize calories out by lifting/growing muscle, using supplements/medication that increase energy consumption/body temperature (caffeine, pqq, ashwaganda…) or interfere with the body’s ability to efficiently absorb resources (acarbose, empagliflozin…).
At least that’s my personal goal as I feel really, really miserable when restricting my calories.

If it works for you then go for it! As I said, I eat what I really like. Basically the same food in similar quantities for the last 4+ decades. Also when I eat a little bit less than others, I don’t feel deprived.

Lifting/growing muscles is a very reasonable alternative. Taking meds that increase energy consumption even if such meds exist in my view is not an optimal route. Easier route. Sure. But side effects. Hmmm… Now growing muscles through weightlifting is an interesting and very valid alternative for healthspan. However, there is no empirical evidence that the “growth” of any type including muscles prolongs lifespan in any organism. Healthspan, sure. I can buy into that. Max lifespan. No way. Just take a look at the list on the wikepedia of the longest persons alive. All petite woman who were active through their life; but, never frequented places like Gold’s gym. In summary I’m interested in max longevity and health; hence, my approach doesn’t focus on muscle building but rather on maintenance and max healthy lifespan.

Oh common, you can’t possibly be serious that is the food you enjoy. I mean I understand if you were to say this the food that has proven to be real healthy for you, but to enjoy it? Look at the picture again and tell me one ingredient in there that a human being (anyone not just you) can enjoy eating it lol. I guess you probably get used to it after a while and then it tastes just fine.

There’s nothing wrong with that salad, it’s definitely a healthy variant of a meal. I would just improvise a little more and add some color to it, like in the attached pic.
It’s a small plate, but has many ingredients: sockeye salmon, murasaki potatoe, carrots. onion, tofu, turmeric, English peas, cranberries, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, mustard and chia seeds.

That’s a fair comment. If I were to speculate, it may have something to do with the food I ate growing up and what I got used to. I’m also a creature of habit so I kind of get used to what I eat. Now food in Europe while back and I still think this is the case today was just so much less processed and more natural. Hearty breads, vegetables, etc. People ate meat with dinners; sure, but portions were much smaller than in America. Also some pastry / ice cream etc. was easily accessible but tasted different than American version. Less sweet. So to be honest, I have zero craving for donuts or muffins, etc. Dark chocolate and nuts. Sure, eat them everyday. All that said I can imagine if somebody grew up on a different diet than they may find what I eat not tasty and challenging to follow.

Yummy! I do rotate of course and try different vegetables and fish too. My body actually will guide me in what it wants and I just follow it.

I found an official tixel treatment in my place of residence for 425 euros ( 650 euros if neck is included; neck apart would be 375 euros ) so I wonder if it wouldn’t be good to have the treatment by a professional before experimenting myself … what would you do ? The price is almost half of what another doctor gave me ( a third one didn’t want to share price info over the phone so I took an appointment to get a third option…)

The cheapest price I found so far for the machine is 1888 euros (tax and customs and shipping to my door included )
The price would also include the “ growth factor” cream one would have to put the following week …

I’ve started tretinoin 0.05%, is there anything I should know? Does the other skin treatments have any proven effect?

It’s really hard to give advice as the calculus involved is highly subjective. For me personally I wouldn’t do it because I know it takes at least 3 treatments to see real results and since I want real results and can’t roll over the cost of a single treatment into the purchase price of the machine, it just wouldn’t be worth it to me. I’d save up to own the machine. In my experience with RF microneedling I got pretty much ZERO results the first 4 times I did it, but very noticeable results after subsequent sessions. The only reason I kept treating after the 4th time was because I incurred zero marginal cost and even had to “justify” to myself my purchase by using the machine. Had I had to pay for each treatment out of pocket I would have stopped long before reaching 5 — apparently the magic number for me — due to a lack of perceived results.
Tixel is more powerful though and you might start to see results right away. Who knows.
If you opt to buy the machine, you should insist on training from the vendor. They often provide it and/or videos of correct usage etc.

Sunscreen — use it religiously. Less is more and buffer tret with a good moisturizer

You don’t have to use moisturizer with it - it comes as a cream typically that you put on at night before bed (don’t put it on during the day as its light sensitive). Medaura is the expert … if she suggests adding moisturizer I would. And be sure to use sunscreen during the day (as it makes your skin more sensitive to sun).
I think one of the key mechanisms of action is that it increases cell turnover on the skin.

I asked her briefly what her opinion on use of tretinoin/Retin A products and the potential for stem cell exhaustion (because tretinoin ramps up the skin cell turnover) and whether that might be a problem. She said she was concerned about this, and especially among younger women aged 20 or so who might be using it for many decades. She was less concerned about use in older people.

Anyone got a thought about this?:
The thing I’m concerned about is that in the studies I’ve read on pubmed they mention two different shaped tips that belong to the Tixel machine - an “s” shaped one which is non-ablative and a “d” shaped one which is ablative. I have no idea which this machine would come with, I tried asking sellers on the Ali’s but I possibly wasn’t understood. I can’t see it mentioned on any listing for a Tixel imitation.
Aside from the tip worry, the one handle machines seem to go up to 5-16ms and 200-800 microns depth (asked a few sellers) so I’m under the impression if you put the settings up high you might be able to use it effectively on the body too. Any thoughts?
