Any updates? Did your side effects improve?
Has anyone experienced vertigo as a side effect? I have been taking rapa 5mg per week and increased the dose to 6mg last Sunday. Woke up on Monday and nearly fell over when I sat up. I have experienced mild spells of vertigo all week. Iāve never had vertigo before so not sure if it may be related. Iāve checked my blood pressure and blood glucose and both are in the normal range for me.
With blood pressure there can be timing issues as it varies.

Measured my blood pressure pretty much right away as I have a machine at home and immediately suspected that it may have been low.

It is very disconcerting to have vertigo. Particularly for the first time. I have experienced it and most likely cause is crystals dislodging in the inner ear canal - or it was in my case. It happens when you tilt your head - and experience the tilt a-whirl sensation. Hits people in middle age and is quite common. A guess on my part - but I doubt it is rapa related if you tilt your head and have the sensation.
I would look into the Epley manoeuvre. It works quite well. Good luck and keep āusā apprised.

I think if it is true vertigo you would also have nystagmus ( a weird eye movement when tilting your head, You can feel your eyes āpulsingā ) One thing I would say regarding the Epley maneuver is not to attempt it on your own. I had a PT who helped me with it. I attempted it myself one time and made the situation much worse. I canāt imagine why Rapamycin would cause it.

Of course. Cigarettes are available. Cigarettes killed millions, Rapamycin killed no one. Cigarettes cause cancer, Rapamycin prevents it.

Should rapamycin be available OTC?

We should stop talking about side effects of Rapamycin. These talks kill. If you treat mild cold with drug X, whose side effects is permanent blindness, let us talk. If you treat aging, which always kills, with Rapamycin, with max risk of temporal rash or soar, then shut up!

I like Dr. B. He tells it like it is.

Anyone noticed any āblood blistersā after rapamycin? Last three weeks I noticed really tiny subcutaneous bleeding on my fingers, they are first bright red, turn black and then fade away, but takes some time. Never had them before, they are really tiny, like around 1 mm or less. Donāt remember injuringā¦ First appearder three weeks ago, some time after my dosing (noticed it Sunday, taking rapamycin Friday), the second two appeared a week later (noticed them Monday). They are all gone now, was just wondering could it be rapamycin.

Almost sound like petechiae which could be a sign of low (very low) platelets, a known side effect of rapamycin. Anywhere else on your body? Iād get a cbc and hold off on the rapa until you sort it out.

Yes similar to petechiae, but really just had 3 single less than 1 mm spots. Nowhere else, just fingers. I am going to see my doctor on Wednesday, I am getting ergospirometry test (aka VO2max) I can take CBC to be sure. Thx. for pointing it out. I wouldnāt be aware that thrombocytopenia could happen with the small dose I am taking (5mg / week).

4th week and upped dosage to 2mg with GF, no sides except feeling good and muscle inflamation and pain from army dmg 18 years ago is gone
Think il stick to 2mg with gf and evo, should be effective dose between 6-14 so nothing crazy
alsow using acarbose 50mg.

Yes, for me 3 mg + GFJ feels good. No major side effects and a general euphoric feeling. I just need to quiet that little voice that says a higher dose is better.

I have been taking rapamycin for 8 months. In the past, I had mild motion sickness, but like when I was a child, I have recently noticed that motion sickness has worsened. I donāt know if this is a side effect of rapamycin

Interesting. Have you tried taking a rapamycin break and seeing if the motion sickness tendency gets better or is unchanged?

@Slice Yes it was the metformin. I am very sensitive to it. I canāt even put it in topicals.

I concur, I usually can take almost anything and no issue, but metformin and my system does not work at all.
Acarbose is a piece of cake and just a bit of gas that is orderless.

this is stupid, of course we should talk about the side effects. This sort of extremism is annoying and does not help rapamycin get taken seriously. It made my condition worse at small doses so I am certain there are groups that have to be careful however small.

Unfortunately, Rapamycin may not work for everyone. I am sorry that you are having such severe side effects.
We still donāt know the correct dose for each person. We can only test and guess based on what little we know.
We have to get to know our individual biologies. Itās like when you give everyone in the world a bag of peanuts. Youāll get a lot of different reactions when they eat them.
