This is so important because most of us won’t be able to afford treatments that will eventually be available, and I do think that it’s possible to fall behind and not be able to copy future treatments without progress in the DIY space. Why? Simply because of more advanced delivery mechanisms or treatments, whether it is an antibody like current PCSK9 inhibitors, siRNA, gene therapy, mRNA, or even simple enteric coating on tablets. I haven’t thought about this in detail though.

In fact it is a guarantee that most of us won’t be able to afford the treatments that are coming, unless done DYI, and so this field I think needs to develop.

So you assume that India isn’t enough? Why would someone prefer to DIY vs buy from India?

I wonder if people might move to another country just for the affordability of cutting-edge medicines. But it’s probably simpler and cheaper just to fly to Colombia, Turkey or India and buy a 1y supply.

Europeans can’t order from India and those laws can change easily. All it takes is for smuggling to be illegal like it is for Europeans. I mean why wouldn’t this happen.

There is a form of robustness in being able to brew most simple molecules at home just using some precursors measured in mg, more difficult to ban.

The BEZOS anti-aging cure might just have a few psyops simultaneously either way, it just takes paying the right people and having the right connections. (1) Start a media campaign in India to ban any illegal attempts at ‘dangerous’ and ‘illicit’ and patent infringing formulations of new treatments. (2) Pay the right people, get just ‘one or two’ substances banned, it’s not a big deal (3) Campaign in Western countries that anti-aging treatments are ‘bad for climate change’, and that no one is actually taking these treatments. (4) The only solution is brewing it at home in secret. (5) In 15-20 years time, they start becoming generic and BEZOS moves on to better things, and now people actually start taking them but they missed 15-20 years of rejuvenation.

If there’s demand, the market will find a solution. Now, drug dealers (talking about narcotics here, not pharmaceuticals :slight_smile: ) in London sell semaglutide (Ozempic) as well. Many products are banned in the West and yet easily accessible (starting with recreational drugs). You can buy cannabis and psychedelic mushrooms online in the EU from the Netherlands, and it’s delivered to your door. There will always be a solution.

BEZOS hates this one simple trick!

I can’t believe this timeline where someone’s going to have a $300 homelab with an Arduino and brewing a $100 M all-inclusive longevity cocktail, based on some Chinese precursors smuggled in a letter, with a European bureaucrat having an aneurysm every pump, stir, and cooling cycle.
