Trying to follow the 9 and 16 months old mice on rapa plus acarbose protocol, one would dose daily, correct? Is it indeed so that, for example, the side effects of 7 mg weekly are that much more tolerable than 1 mg per day, so much so that such an otherwise unnecessary deviation (from what has been shown to have the desired effect in our mamal cousins) is justified?

Hi, you can’t really directly compare the dose used in the mouse studies directly with human dosing. Mice process the rapamycin much faster than humans; the half-life of rapamycin in mice is about 15 hours, vs. about 65 to 70 hours for humans. So daily dosing for mice is almost like weekly dosing for humans.

I recommend you review these threads on dosing strategies. The dose of once per week seems to provide for most people a good balance of efficacy and low side effects; but some people are modifying that strategy a bit given their own results. We are all just working to find out what works best for our bodies.

15 versus 70 h (if so, and not the 8 h often mentioned instead) is a valid point. Thank you.
