I bet I could find an article where breathing is harmful to your health. I know I can find one where water is.

How often do people take anticholinergics? I used to take benadryl for short periods when I had a cold but I can’t imagine why you’d take it “every day” like a vitamin. I wore a scopolamine patch for three days when I went fishing. What drugs in this class would people take regularly, and why?

Hi Life Extension Enthusiasts,
I am the Natural Pharmacist and the author of the book titled: Rapamycin, mTOR, Autophagy & Treating mTOR Syndrome. In 2001, my book titled The Drug-Induced Nutrient Depletion Handbook was published.

My book discusses which nutrients are being depleted by prescription drugs and now to prevent and/or correct these nutrient depletions. During the process of writing this book, I discovered that oral contraceptives deplete more nutrients than any other class of Rx drugs. This motivated me to write a book titled The Pill Problem which tells women how to prevent and/or correct oral contraceptive-induced nutrient depletions.

I still prescribe it but let people know the risks. Works amazing for sleep.

it’s been quite a few yrs since then, sorry. since I stopped my long term PPI use back then; I don’t have issues with low mg anymore. you can find all the info you want on the WWW.

It seems to blunt dopamine for me now. It didn’t use to. At typical doses (250-500mcg) I get full blown anhedonia within 3 days. Last time, I had to fix it with bromantane and ALCAR.

Any idea what potential mechanism could cause that?

Speculation is it’s due to its effects on the gut-brain axis and how it modulates neurotransmitters:

It has been proven that BPC 157 may particularly interact with dopaminergic [54, 65] and serotonergic systems [58-60], but also may interact with other neuronal systems, such as GABAergic [61, 62] and opioid [63].

Estimates are that up to 10% of people get anhedonia and/or depression and anxiety from it. Most recover within weeks, but some claim to have seemingly permanent issues. It’s a powerful peptide. Amazingly effective for most, but also dangerous. A lot of doctors who prescribe it are unduly caviler, seemingly unaware of a lot of anecdotal side effect reports. But there are far too many to ignore, and it’s a very rapid and strong effect when it happens.

Primarily as sleep aids or anti-anxiety medication I’d guess

Right now I’m using Nature Made. Not too pricey and USP verified.

I wouldn’t say never take but I would exercise extreme caution when taking HGH for longevity purposes.

You could try taking Mucuna Prururiens while taking BPC-157.

If you want an even bigger boost of l-dopamine, take it with l-tyrosine.

Mucuna is a well-known natural source of levodopa (L-dopa)

L-dopa is the metabolic precursor of dopamine and is used primarily in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

I take 2 grams daily occasionally. If I need a big dopamine boost, I add 2 grams of l-tyrosine.

Just make sure you get a legit brand.

Thank you for that suggestion. I have some L-tyrosine in the cabinet but I have not tried mucuna pruriens. I will order some and give it a go with a very low dose of BPC, maybe 100mcg. If I stop dosing quickly enough I know the emotional blunting effect will abate so it’s worth a try. My medial epicondylitis does need some BPC relief.

I also have some thymosin beta 4 on the way. Something I haven’t used before.

Mucuna Prururiens will give you a big boost if you are low on dopamine.
Some studies have shown that it is as effective as prescription Levodopa.
“Levodopa enters the brain and helps replace the missing dopamine.”

It’s interesting to note how all systems are different.
Caffeine of any kind spins me out and causes lip sores.
Refined sugar of any kind causes, headaches, fatigue and hangover symptoms as well as cravings.
Some people might use these as supplements, in a manner of speaking. (allergies might be a whole other conversation. In general, foods or supplements we may have over-indulged in can have adverse effects. (For example my body struggles incredibly to digest a banana.)

I took BPC157 and ended up at a closed psychiatric ward due to acute psychosis!!!

That is extremely unlikely. I would like you to present any evidence that BPC-157 causes psychosis. I think you have problems unrelated to BPC-157.
Telling me that you took BPC-157 and developed a psychosis doesn’t compute. You may have developed a psychosis, but it is highly unlikely to be related to BPC-157 unless you received it contaminated with something else.
In fact, BPC-157 might have the opposite effect. There is no evidence that the BPC-157 peptide might cause psychosis. If BPC-157 caused you to have psychosis, you are an extreme outlier, as thousands take this every day without reporting any psychotic effects.

There is no evidence that BPC-157 peptide might cause psychosis.

"The available literature on BPC-157, a stable gastric pentadecapeptide, primarily focuses on its potential therapeutic effects, particularly in relation to its interactions with the dopamine and serotonin systems. Studies have shown that BPC-157 can counteract various disturbances induced by neuroleptics and other agents that affect the dopamine system, such as catalepsy and stereotypy, without inducing psychosis.[1-4]

For instance, BPC-157 has been demonstrated to counteract the effects of amphetamine, apomorphine, and MK-801, which are known to induce schizophrenia-like symptoms in animal models.[1] Additionally, BPC-157 has shown protective effects against neuroleptic-induced catalepsy and other behavioral disturbances without causing adverse psychiatric effects.[3-4]"

I’d be happy to share the medical info with you. Never had psychosis before. It was an awful experience. It happened after 2 days of taking bpc157 for the first time. I probably took too much on the second day (half a pipette) but it started already after the first dose. Thoughts going through my mind as if I had iq 160, vision improved beyond recognition (while riding in a car I could see distant objects in full 3d), no hunger, no tiredness. I wouldn’t mind that part. But then the nightmare came. I completely lost my sense with reality. I couldn’t recognise my husband nor my son. Would have jumped onto the street if they hadn’t physically restrained me. After 4 hours of trying to bring me to my senses they called the ER. They could no longer restrain me. They needed the help of 2 ER men to lock me up in a restrainer. The Psychiatric Clinic got a court order to keep me in. They gave me antipsychotics iv and sedated me. Mind you, I don’t know what else they did because I totally wasn’t there and don’t know who was there in my place for 5 whole hours. I got better within 12 hours and did not experience any psychotic moments again. I couldn’t believe that such a dangerous substance could be so easily obtained - in my case via Instagram. If I hadn’t received helped I could have died - jumped under the car or into the river. I lived in my own reality and I was chasing someone who tried to harm my son and partner. I heard and saw and felt everything as if it was real but of course it was all a delusion. I kept the bottle because I wanted to send it for testing.

What I think that possibly happened is that BPC157 interacted with my anti depressants venlafaxine and trazodone.
