I’m sure you’d get more benefit if you kept going every 6 weeks or so. I think the 3-4 + yearly maintenance is just a proposed timeline so people don’t get scared of the notion of a treatment every 6 weeks and associated costs. One great thing about that machine is seemingly no consumables so zero marginal cost if you buy it.

Even more of a rationale if one is using it on other parts of the body than just the face… I think BJ has said he’s doing this all over his body (or maybe he used IPL for other parts of his body, but I get the feeling he’d use Tixel on the rest of his body now). I wonder why he hasn’t bought a Tixel machine yet?

Perhaps the ideal implementation idea here might be for people in a given geographic area to go in together (i.e. 2 or 3 people) to buy this type of device and share it?

While the products from Alibaba seem pretty cheap, I’ve never purchased any device from Alibaba and wonder about the risk of
a) it not working
b) it stop working shortly after getting it
c) how well it actually works compared to the Novoxel Tixel machine.

Plus, even if you use it a few times a year, on many different areas of the skin, its still sitting in the closet most of the time, so would make sense to share it.

Given these open questions - it might make sense for 2 or 3 people in a given region to “share” a device and go in on one together, and share that risk. I feel a lot more comfortable risking say $400, than risking $1400 or so (after all shipping, money transfer, etc. costs).

Other people’s thoughts on this idea?

I love this cleanser. I have been using it for a week and my skin really feels “clean” and soft afterwards. I am happy. My cleaning lady less so. I am washing it off in the shower. :grimacing:

Hahah, it’s da bomb, no? Maybe try getting it done over the sink instead. But actually I always think it’s better in the shower and to put it on BEFORE you shampoo so the foamy surfactants don’t strip your skin. Then rinse off after the hair is clean.

Man, maybe I should start selling it again on my Shopify. It’s just such a pain to make large batches and bottle etc.

I did buy some kefir grains, but unfortunately I did not know they are different for water and milk. I am waiting for the right ones to arrive. I will definitely try it.

I’d still use the regular ones to make kefir to drink. It’s not for topical use though as it’s got the color and consistency of a frothy yogurt— unless you use it as a mask. But much more bang for the buck to eat than smear.

I have not. Can’t use it during pregnancy and have a couple other devices I’ve been getting great results with. That purchase is probably a couple years away for me.

I haven’t jumped into this area yet… not sure if its worth it or not. I find it disappointing that its almost impossible to know the quality of these types of devices… there are no “consumer reports” for these types of products from China, and some are good I’m sure others not so good.

Following Medaura’s positive experiences and her - as always - precious advice I finally bought a red light panel and am very very happy with it (to be honest I feel fairly stupid that I bought another second- hand gadget in Spain paying a lot compared to what I would have paid from the Ali’ s; but then again I haven’t got that much experience - yet). I am looking into buying tixel machine in a couple of months if an interesting price pops up ( but am in no hurry as I would rather start in autumn so in 5 months from now ). Someone else bought a tecar machine recently (tecar thread) and it would seem indeed he was very satisfied too)

Glad it worked out for you! Yes I’ve been getting the feeling I’m overpaying for skincare gadgets, too.

I am also very interested in a tixel machine, or a laser of some sort for pigmentation. I’ll keep you posted if I find anything interesting, perhaps you could do the same when you start researching!

Do you know how tixel results compares to Microneedling? They both cause micro-injury to up-regulate collagen but the tixel burns , whereas the pen manually punctures . I have a Microneedling pen but I hate using it.

I have a microneedling pen but haven’t used it in over a year because RF Microneedling works sooo much better — seriously I should look into liquidating my old devices for pocket change as they just take up space in my drawers.

Tixel is supposed to work much better than RF microneedling too so not even comparable to Dr Pen — orders of magnitude better. I’m just very happy with my RF microneedling results and don’t need to rock the boat and spend that kind of cash right now.

Not ready to pull the trigger yet but maybe eventually… I’m not too far from you. I will say i had $$$ laser while under anesthesia a few months ago by a very good doc, and IF there is a difference, it’s only slightly noticeable.

I hear some of the heat devices actually dissolve fat in our faces… not sure which ones are the culprits. Just an fyi if it hasn’t been discussed here.

I’m not doing anything too interesting but I’ve started using Elevai Enfinity. I’m sharing only because it’s a more obscure product. It has vit c, peptides and exosomes. I might be wasting my money?, but at the very least, I’m enjoying my peptide and vit c serum being one step. (I appreciate that the product is vegan and not tested on animals).

Have you all had the deep dive on exosomes and are they of value?

True. I think HIFU is the biggest culprit for fat loss. But the radiofrequency devices can do it too. It all depends on the energy output. My devices are not as high powered as some of the salon versions.
