Thanks, yes, I agree: re the dawn effect. HbA1c is 5.9.

The Florida Department of Health was issued rebuttals by the CDC:

ā€œOn 15 February, 2023, the department published a safety alert from the State Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo warning of ā€œa novel increaseā€ in adverse event reports related to mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines. The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) subsequently published a public response to Ladapo and the department, offering rebuttals to his ā€œmisinterpretations and misinformationā€ related to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.ā€

ā€œOn 10 May, 2023, Ladapo issued an open letter to Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Robert Califf and CDC Director Rochelle Walensky accusing their agencies of withholding information regarding the true rate of adverse events associated with COVID-19 vaccines. Ladapo issued another letter on 6 December, 2023, asking the FDA and CDC to address reports of ā€œnucleic acid contaminantsā€ discovered in samples of Pfizerā€“BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. The FDA dismissed his concerns as ā€œmisleadingā€ and stated that the agency stood firm in its regulatory decision making. On 3 January, 2024, Ladapo called for a statewide halt of the use of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.ā€

I wouldnā€™t, at first blush, trust anything coming out of the Florida Department of Health with regard to COVID-19 vaccines.

I received the COVID-19 vaccine in early September (2024) along with a influenza shot, had a mild reaction the next day, but was absolutely fine the day after. But I also had a negative reaction to the Shingles vaccine (Shingrix). Women, however, given their stronger immune systems, are much more prone to stronger reactions to any vaccine.

Two years of long Covid symptoms after just one Pfizer jab. Then got Covid and although that was mild still dealing with strange symptoms that come and go past year. I belong to a long Covid forum for past few years. Have learnt a lot. Slowly getting back to normal healthwise. But I will never get another vaccine.

Only me, not advocating this:

Boost my immune system on a continuous / periodic basis: take peptides: thymulin, thymosin a1, epitalon. Get/keep my vit D up into >>50, idealy 70-90. Take desicated bovin thymus glad. Mushroom extracts. Peptide LL-37!!! This is said to be MUCH more effective then the commercial pavlovid. Google; peptide LL-37 immune booster.

Post symptom of any sickness; We get sick so infrequently we wonā€™t be over doing this; take 24mg iver*n, AND reboost with the above peptides, and add 3 to 6 packets of ProBoost (a thymus product), repeat ivern after 3 days if symtoms persist (never todate).

The nuclear option taken from the flccc???.org The FLCCC Dr website; adds in a few more things.

Do as you see best for your body. For me; I worry about many things re the vacn today, after 3 of them todate. Besides side effects and damage I worry more about immune senescence caused by too frequent too many vaccines. JMO and view; senescence is a burred topic to sell the uptake of vax.

When traveling we will put on masks when boarding airplanes, and spray up with ioderol (iodine) nose spray (very useful IMHO) frequently through the day when in public spaces. I keep a sprayer in my pocket always and spray before and after a tight interaction. IMHO prevention is doable.

When going to group gatherings that Iā€™m forced to go to (family etc) do dose up with 24mg of iver***n. zero side effects. Iver** like benfin is anti cancer too. Iā€™ve never felt a single side effect from so much iverā€¦ Just me, might have some effect on you. Donā€™t take my advice. Decide for yourself.

Wishing you the best.

Very true. My last conversation w/ my PA: ā€œWill you please prescribe some Metformin?ā€ His response: ā€œNo, you arenā€™t diabetic, your A1c is normal, admittedly towards the higher endā€¦ā€ My response: ā€œI see morning fasting blood glucose levels, routinely from 140 to 170, but then I do a lot of fasting and OMAD which helps the A1c.ā€

So, he did prescribe Metformin 500mg SR, that helped, then I asked him to go to 1,000 and that helped more. I asked him to go to 1500 and he said: ā€œnope.ā€ So, Iā€™ll just get some from Jagdish, in India. It did bring my morning/fasting BG down to 120-125. IMHO folk who have marked dawn phenomena ought to take that seriously.

Justin, I resonated with what you described in your note. My PCP has generally gone along with what I requested, but I have had to ask, and sometimes build a case. Like when I asked to be tested for Lp(a) ā€“ this was over a year ago before it was a thing ā€“ and learned mine was high. And when, (finally) disturbed by the high glucose I asked for fasting insulin and C-Peptide --and learned they are inexplicably low. Then for a referral to the endocrinologist who is the local top person for diabetes ā€“ and for whom I have been waiting to see for six months.

Yes, you have to ask, ask again, keep records.

Another thought ā€“ like you, my morning fasting blood glucose is high. Two things that I think may have been contributing: (1) the ā€œdawnā€ phenomenon ā€“ cortisol in the early AM causes large release of glucose and (2)-- rather chagrined to admit but I think dehydration has also been contributing. I am not good about getting enough fluids, but for past several days have made myself drink a large glass of water with some lemon juice first thing in the AM, and 20-30 minutes before measuring FBG. Too early to tell but I think it is helping.

Low fasting insulin seems to imply + effects, and perhaps high insulin sensitivity in light of an ok A1c. Iā€™ll take excellent insulin sensitivity (low fasting insulin) over higher insulin and a resulting lower FBG, maybe Iā€™m wrong? Clearly, for you and I, our bodies have determined that a higher FBG early in the day is what we need, and perhaps thereā€™s a bit of truth to that. Although I am happy to see my FBG from from ~150 to below 125.

As for hydration, Iā€™ll admit that as an RN Iā€™m a bit of a pariah in my clan since all other RNā€™s seem to say ā€œdrink gallons.ā€ I say (to those in good health aged 18 > 60, ā€œdrink when you want to, your bodyā€™s very smart.ā€ Admittedly for those over age 60 that may, or may not be true. Try the pinch test, pinch the skin on the back of your hand at various times of the day, then upon arising. If rebound is slow in the morning then thatā€™s a potential indicator to being dehydrated.

I strongly empathize with your situation, as a fellow pre-diabetic, or diabetic adjacent, morning BG well over 100, A1c 5.9.

Iā€™m somewhat confused by the Covid vax situation - Iā€™ve fortunately never had any problems (first was Johnsonā€™s, the rest, I think six times at this point, always Moderna), but Iā€™ve read that Covid vaccines were supposed to prevent exactly Long Covid, and that was the big selling point. Also many LC folks report that even when they got LC, a subsequent Covid vaccine healped greatly. Yet you seem to report the opposite. Has the whole ā€œfor LC prevention, get the Covid vaxā€ been now debunked?

Or maybe there are different presentations of LC, and for some the vax is helpful, but for others harmful?

Iā€™ll put this here since I think it is controversial and though I donā€™t mind more educated people telling me Iā€™m crazy Iā€™m afraid the people who might need to read it wonā€™t.

The author is a doctor and I recently discovered him. The article is about the problem with vaccines, itā€™s provocatively titled and I think it would have been better to mention that vaccines do both good and bad things. He explains why hydroxychloriquin and ivermectin may do positive things, why grounding is important and spends a lot of time on clots. Iā€™m curious how it will be interpreted here:

Is zeta potential a real thing? Does grounding make much difference?

Itā€™s definitely an interesting article. I donā€™t know if thereā€™s much scientific support to the controversial topics presented. Thank you for sharing. Gives food for thoughts.

Just be careful with Metformin. Levels of 1000 mg a day or less are beneficial and just fine, but there start to be undesirable detrimental side effects (beyond affecting muscles) above that level. Thatā€™s probably why your physician did not want to go above that level.

Why do people waste their time and energy on inferior stories? Watch a film, listen to some music, or attend a meditation retreat.

Hi I dont know really- the symptoms of vax injury are the same as long covid it seems. No the vax does not prevent long covid or covid for that matter. And the more infections you have the more likelihood of long covid. From what I know, the exipients in the Pfizer are problematic and have caused many issues. We have a very educated forum its run by Tom Bunker who advocates fasting for autophagy as one strategy.

Thank you. Clearly thereā€™s a lot we donā€™t know as yet about the virus or the vaccine. As so often, it seems like luck of the draw; ā€œitā€™s better to be lucky than goodā€ strikes again.

Thank you. Yes, metformin blunts muscle hypertrophy and, I believe, cardio response.

So, how does one find an optimal balance? I have Prostate Cancer, and metformin is anti-proliferative and anti-angiogenic (I think). Combined with early morning high blood glucose readings (dawn phenomena) it seems that1500 or 2000 would be better.

What is interesting is that I have not seen blunting at all, and oddly based upon rising levels on the elliptical that I use, my performance seems better than before starting metformin.

This being said I do take Curcumin; Quercetin, NAC and ALA for their anti-proliferative/anti angiogenic effects and I wonder if one or multiple of the above has offset the mitochondrial effect that blunts muscle hypertrophy.

Iā€™ve been trying to ^ muscle mass + strength because Iā€™ll be on ART (Androgen Deprivation Meds, aka the Meds form Hell) for 1 to 3 years, and also because I like Agetronā€™s biceps icon photo.

I unfortunately found my way to this forum because my covid vaccine course caused me to develop autoimmune symptoms lasting for more than 4 years now. My symptoms have been arthritic and cardiovascular: PACs, elevated heartrate, heavy heartbeat - though PACs have persisted the elevated heartrate recovered about half way and the heartbeat isnā€™t nearly as heavy anymore. There are communities of people for long ā€œvaccineā€ or vaccine induced long covid similar to covid long haulers and there are efforts to have research done. Prof. Akiko Iwasaki is someone who is leading some research in long covid and long vaccine.

Hopefully your symptoms can clear up.

From a large range of anecdotes in the LC communities this seems to be the case. A few improve, most stay the same, and a few worsen. If I had to guess at the percents it would look somewhere like 20/60/20 maybe just slightly favored toward improving over worsening

Iā€™ve heard of individuals getting long-term fatigue/malaise after getting the mRNA vaccineā€¦ symptoms were very similar to getting long Covid. It sounds like Michele had the same issue.
